About
Mason is a magician for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Mason works two very different rooms. The stage show runs up to an hour and gets built around whatever time frame you've got, mixing predictions revealed in unlikely ways with comedy routines that are goofier than they look, plus a couple of pieces with a genuine element of risk, performed under controlled conditions and not to be copied at home. It's material that has fooled Penn and Teller and it's been on at Arts Centre Melbourne. Then there's close-up, which is the version that happens at your elbow: a chosen card turning up on someone's phone lock screen, a guest somehow finding their own card. Corporate events, weddings, festivals, roving work and kids' parties. Set-up for the stage show takes about fifteen minutes, and he can supply mic and speaker if there's power.

The show
Depends which of the three you book. The stage show runs up to an hour, or shorter if your run sheet is tight, and mixes predictions revealed in genuinely unlikely ways with comedy routines that look sillier than they are. A couple of pieces carry real risk, done under controlled conditions, and nobody should try copying them. The music is copyright free. Close-up is the version that happens at your elbow, where a card turns up on a guest's phone lock screen or someone finds their own card without knowing how. Kids' shows suit five and up, run 30 to 60 minutes, and involve rabbits and marshmallows appearing out of nowhere.
On the day
For the stage show, give Mason 10 to 15 minutes to get set before you need him on. If there's a power point available he can bring a microphone and speaker himself, so a venue without a house PA isn't a problem. Worth confirming where the power is when you book.
