About
Jay Cristo is a magician for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Watch
On the day
For close-up and roving magic he arrives fifteen to twenty minutes ahead of the start time you've given him, which covers a final run through the props and gets him working on the dot. Stage shows need thirty minutes, because there's a PA to put up as well as the props to check. Neither needs much from you beyond knowing where he's starting and when. Just build the arrival window into your run sheet so nobody is waiting on him or hurrying him.
Performance options
Close-up magic comes in four lengths: fifteen minutes, thirty, forty-five, or a full hour working the room. Longer is possible if you ask. Stage magic runs to the same idea but tops out at forty-five minutes, which is about right for a set slot after dinner or between speeches. Which one you want usually comes down to how your night is structured. A cocktail hour suits roving close-up. A seated audience with a clear focal point suits the stage show. Say what your schedule looks like when you enquire and he'll tell you which length fits.
