About
Aaron Ducker is a magician for hire in Toowoomba, QLD.
Most magicians perform other people's tricks. Aaron Ducker writes his own, and it changes the whole feel of the show. He's a stand-up comedian and close-up magician from Toowoomba whose style is satirical rather than showy, with routines that leave people scratching their heads and laughing at the same time. He offers a stand-up magic show or roving close-up work, which makes him easy to slot into a corporate event, a wedding or a party. And he's fully insured for liability.

The show
Most magic you've seen is borrowed. The tricks, the patter, the timing, the movement, all lifted from somebody else's act. Aaron writes his own, and that changes what the show feels like from the first routine. He's been performing satirical live magic since 2016 and working at the craft longer than that, coming at it from outside the traditional magic circles, which is roughly where the anarchic streak comes from. Close-up is his specialty, and it's built around the audience rather than performed at them. So expect to be part of it. People tend to laugh and look confused at the same time.
Performance options
Two ways to have him work your event. The stand-up magic show puts him front and centre for a set, comedy and magic running together, which suits a seated crowd and a room that's been brought to a focus. Walk around close-up magic works the other way, moving between guests during a drinks hour or between courses, doing the work at arm's length. Corporate events, weddings and parties all take one or the other, and some nights take both.
