About

Connie is a keynote speaker for hire in Melbourne, VIC.

Connie Paglianiti's subject is the second chance, and she has little patience for the polite version of that conversation. She speaks on reinvention, stigma, gambling harm, ageing out of relevance and what it actually takes to bring someone back into a workforce. Her talks include Red Flags in Plain Sight, on spotting risk before it becomes a crisis, Second Chances, on hiring beyond the checkbox without dropping standards or safety, and Stigma at Work, on how everyday language and rigid policy quietly do damage. Audiences get useful questions rather than a pep talk. She brings her own laptop, adapter and clicker, and can present without slides or without amplification in a small room. She holds a current Working with Children Check in Victoria.

The show

Connie Paglianiti draws on lived experience, and there's no sugar-coating in it. The subjects are reinvention, stigma, gambling harm, reintegration and what a genuine second chance actually asks of an organisation. Audiences get useful questions and practical tools rather than an hour of inspiration that fades by Monday. She doesn't talk at a room either, she pulls people into thinking and responding. Accountability, outdated labels, risk and redemption all get handled with honesty and hope without going soft. What tends to stick is the recognition that someone's past doesn't have to decide their future.

On the day

A wireless lapel or headset microphone is preferred, though handheld works, and in a small room with decent acoustics she can go without amplification. For slides, a screen or projector with HDMI, and she brings her own laptop, USB-C adapter and clicker. A no-slides version can be arranged. Audio is only needed if there's video in the talk. A lectern is optional, but leave her clear space to move. Workshops go better with a flip chart or whiteboard and tables in pods rather than rows. A quick technical check gets booked in beforehand.

Performance options

Three keynote formats. The community version runs 30 to 45 minutes with a short Q and A, sized for councils, libraries, schools and local events around metropolitan Melbourne. The signature keynote runs 45 to 60 minutes for corporate, government, education and conference rooms, and brings a preparation call, content written for your audience, slides and resources for attendees to take away. The premium version adds stakeholder consultation, a review of your run sheet, fully customised content and a bundle of attendee resources, and suits conferences and larger leadership events. Every keynote includes a discovery call to agree the agenda, promotional copy you can use in your event marketing, and a short debrief afterwards. Add-ons if you want them: a 90 to 120 minute workshop on the same day, panel moderation or a facilitated Q and A, and signed books or custom book bundles. A limited number of dates are held for not-for-profit and community organisations, so say so when you enquire if that is you.
