About
Carmen's Road Safety Message is a keynote speaker for hire in Brown Hill, VIC.
Road safety talks rarely hold a room like this one. John has 25 years on the keynote circuit, and his presentation tells the true story of what happened to his own family, with laughter and tears both part of it. At the Million Dollar Round Table conference in Vancouver, 4,000 delegates gave the session a standing ovation. The format is straightforward: a 60 minute presentation with a short video, suited to conferences and corporate audiences.

The show
Sixty minutes, one story, and a short video inside it. John has spent 25 years on the keynote circuit and gives this talk between 80 and 100 times a year. The material is his own life: a car crash that changed it, and the loss of his daughter Carmen in a second crash two years later. Rooms go quiet. There is laughter in it as well, and tears, and people tend to leave thinking about their own driving rather than his. At the Million Dollar Round Table conference in Vancouver, 4,000 delegates stood up at the end. Behind it sit a Ballarat Safe City Award for road safety and three Australian of the Year nominations. Confronting, and meant to be.
On the day
The presentation runs to 60 minutes and is built around a PowerPoint, so a screen and a projector are needed. One thing that catches venues out: there's a two minute video partway through, and it needs sound. A projector with no audio feed leaves the most affecting part of the session playing silently. Worth confirming with your AV people rather than assuming.
