About
The Julian Laurence Trio is a jazz trio for hire in Sydney, NSW.
A Sydney jazz trio for the parts of an event where the music should sit under the conversation rather than over it. Private parties, corporate gatherings and small dinners are the natural fit. The song list draws on the American Songbook, jazz standards across the decades, swing, bossa nova and smooth pop, and requests are welcome if you send them through in advance. A typical booking is three hours across three 45 minute sets. The trio brings its own PA when the venue hasn't got one, along with their own instruments, and asks for a meal for the players.
Watch
The show
A smooth, unbroken performance shaped to the event it's playing at. The trio work closely with whoever is running the day, so the music lines up with the schedule instead of cutting across it, and the organiser isn't left managing it on the night.
On the day
For a venue with no sound system, they carry a PA of their own, and they bring their own instruments regardless. One further thing forms part of the booking: a meal for the players.
