About
Jazz Academy is a jazz band for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Jazz Academy come at the classics from a soul direction, playing them with warm honest tone rather than polite reverence. The influences are worth naming because they explain the sound: Erykah Badu, Gretchen Parlato, Little Dragon, Marvin Gaye, Kurt Elling, Donny Hathaway and Prince, with hip hop and contemporary jazz feeding in as well. The Sydney group can be booked anywhere from a duo up to a six piece, which makes them workable for a cocktail party and a gala dinner alike. Weddings, corporate functions and private events all sit comfortably in their range.

On behalf of the Kennedy Foundation, our deepest thanks for your super efforts in making last Friday night a stunning success. Always a pleasure to work with a team of pros at the top of their game. The night was by all accounts a triumph and each of you deserves a thick slice of the credit for a fabulous show. It's a tough room and you all nailed it. Looking forward to doing it all again next year - same venue - same Bat Channel!
