Every member of Sway graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts, and it shows in how seriously they take the standards. This is classic jazz played in its own spirit rather than modernised, an eclectic mix pulled from the great songbooks. Usually a trio, which keeps the footprint small enough for a modest venue, though a singer or a saxophone player can be added when a bigger sound suits. Sway will sit back as an aural backdrop or push things towards a dance floor, and they're happy to work through a set list with you beforehand. Michael, Matt and Sonny entertained us at our recent Senior Medical Staff formal dinner. Their relaxed cool groove definitely defrosted our usually stuffy dinner. The boys are professional in all regards and have just booked them for another gig!
