About
Night Owls is a jazz band for hire in Albury, NSW.
Over 20 years playing the border, and it shows in how easily this band changes gear. Night Owls run drums, bass, guitar, keys and sax, with the sax player doubling on harmonica, trumpet, flute and clarinet, plus four experienced singers. Their library runs past 500 songs. Background jazz early, then swing, blues and rock and roll once the room warms up: Moondance, In the Mood, Mustang Sally, Route 66, Sing Sing Sing, Jailhouse Rock, House of the Rising Sun. American standards sit alongside Australian material. They're regulars at the Albury Commercial Club and other local venues, and they need 240 volt power and a dry stage of roughly six by three metres.

The show
Night owls Jazz band start in the background and build from there. Background jazz while people arrive and eat, then lively swing, blues and rock and roll once the room is ready for it. The covers are the well known ones, drawn from both American and Australian artists. The line up is drums, bass, guitar, keys and sax, with the sax player also handling harmonica, trumpet, flute and clarinet, plus four singers, all of them experienced. They play the Albury Commercial Club and other local venues regularly, so this is a working band rather than an occasional one.
Performance options
This band scales to the job. A basic jazz gig sits at one end. Corporate and wedding bookings at the other, with more of the night covered. You can have them acoustic, or with the PA and lights brought in, depending on the size of the room and how much of a show you want it to look like. Say which way you're leaning at enquiry.
