The Moods have been going since the late 90s, which makes them one of Sydney's longest running bands, and they've played thousands of gigs in that time. What they're actually good at is reading which part of the night they're in. Whisper-quiet jazz while guests are still talking to each other, then Aussie rock classics later on when everyone has loosened up. They've worked private homes at one end and the Manly, Noosa and Thredbo jazz festivals at the other. The line-up scales to the room. An acoustic jazz band suits a garden ceremony or roving work, a cool jazz group fits a product launch, and for a birthday or corporate night the repertoire stretches from Gatsby-era songs through Sinatra-style vocals to 60s and 70s R&B.
