Gordon Matheson is a guitarist for hire in Gold Coast, QLD.
Forty years of playing, and a repertoire that runs into the thousands of tunes: popular songs, ballads, jazz, flamenco, classical and easy listening. Gordon Matheson is a jazz guitarist first, but the wedding and corporate work has been steady for decades, played on acoustic guitar, with backing tracks behind him or without. He has shared stages with The Seekers, John Farnham, Liza Minnelli and Tina Arena, and sat in the orchestra pit for Hair, Rocky Horror Show and Evita. These days he plays with the Jazz Kings and the Gold Coast Big Band. He teaches as well. Brings his own sound system and needs a power point nearby, and takes session work alongside the function bookings.

The show
Forty years of playing, and the CV includes stages with The Seekers, John Farnham, Liza Minnelli and Tina Arena, plus orchestra pit work on Hair, Rocky Horror Show and Evita. Gordon's a jazz player at heart but the function work is where most of the hours have gone, so a wedding, a corporate lunch or a private dinner is well inside familiar ground. Polished rather than showy. He still plays with the Jazz Kings and the Gold Coast Big Band, and takes session work as well.
On the day
Gordon owns his sound system and brings it with him, so there's nothing to hire and nothing for the venue to arrange. All he needs from you is a power point reasonably close to where he'll be playing. Worth a quick look at the corner you have in mind, because that's usually the only thing that needs sorting.
Performance options
There's a wedding package that pairs an hour of guitar with an hour of photography, and the photos come to you afterwards on a USB. So the music for the ceremony and the pictures of it are sorted in one booking. If you'd like him playing for longer than that hour, extra playing time is available, just say so when you enquire.
