Terrigal is where the Central Coast gets married, and the acts closest to it are the reception crowd: a DJ and an MC in Terrigal itself, a DJ and a singer at Kincumber, singers at Copacabana and Forresters Beach, a singer-songwriter at Erina, and cover bands at Forresters Beach and Bateau Bay. Every one of them is within about ten minutes of the beach. What the Sydney acts add, and there are plenty from Manly and the north shore in the wider pool, is the M1 and a late drive home on your quote.
The Central Coast page is the whole region from Gosford up; this one is the beach end, and it reads differently. Singers and cover bands first, then duos, wedding singers and wedding bands, with party bands showing up in a way they don't inland. For a headland ceremony and a reception in a beachfront room the local ten cover the day; for a string quartet or a comedian, widen to the Coast page.
Top picks are the nearby performers with the most visible reviews, then rating, then the closest; further afield the closest come first, and premium listings break remaining ties. Distances are straight-line from Terrigal. Ask each act whether they travel to your venue and what that costs.
The Terrigal wedding DJs price for the full day more often than not: ceremony music on the headland, the formalities, then the dance floor, and a battery rig for the beach part is the extra to ask about. Spring Saturdays are the top of their range and a winter Friday the bottom. The from-prices beside the DJs on this page are what the Terrigal and Kincumber DJs are quoting today.
Usually, and it's fair: from Manly or the north shore it's well over an hour each way and the drive home is after midnight. A local from Copacabana or Erina has none of that on the quote, so ask the Sydney act to show travel as its own line and compare like with like. Only the acts doing something no Coast act does are worth the extra.
Not really, and most couples don't try. The beach and the headland are public land with limits on amplified sound, and wind off the water flattens a small rig anyway, so the beach is for the singer and the vows and the band belongs in the reception room. The cover bands at Forresters Beach and Bateau Bay have played the local function rooms enough to know each one's cut-off time.
A local MC who's worked the Terrigal reception rooms keeps a wedding on time, and the one here lives in town. For a fiftieth or a corporate dinner it's the simplest way to make the night feel run.
Terrigal fills with Sydney families from Boxing Day to late January and the pubs and clubs book bands every night. A wedding in that window competes with the holiday trade for the same cover bands.
Both are on the list. A cover band plays the songs the room knows; a party band is built for a dance floor from the first number and often brings more players. For a reception with speeches, take the cover band and a DJ for after.
