Lake MacDonald is Noosa's water supply, a dam on Six Mile Creek with a botanic garden on its shore, and the houses around it are acreage. One singer-songwriter lives here. Everyone else in the ten is a quarter of an hour away in a different direction: Pomona's singer and folk duo to the north, the country band at Doonan to the east, Tewantin's singer on the river, the jug band at Eumundi to the south, and the Noosaville duo and singer beyond that. Sitting in the middle of the hinterland is a good place for a booker to be.
It's still an acoustic list. Singers, duos, a folk band and a country band, a wedding act at North Arm, and not a DJ or a cover band among them. For a garden wedding on the lake or a property reception that ends with a playlist, that's plenty; for a dance band you'll open the Sunshine Coast page and add half an hour of highway to the quote.
Top picks are the nearby performers with the most visible reviews, then rating, then the closest; further afield the closest come first, and premium listings break remaining ties. Distances are straight-line from Lake MacDonald. Ask each act whether they travel to your venue and what that costs.
The hinterland singers price the afternoon: ceremony, signing, photos and the first drinks as one block, with a small extra for battery sound if the spot has no power. A garden or property ceremony here is a short drive for the Pomona, Doonan and Tewantin acts, so travel rarely appears. The from-prices beside the singers and duos above are what they're quoting this season.
Two, and both are hinterland bands rather than cover bands: the folk band at Eumundi and the country band at Doonan. Either suits a shed, a marquee or a long lunch on a farm. For a pop cover band, the coast has them, and the Sunshine Coast page is the place to look.
Often a small line, sometimes none; Lake MacDonald is around forty minutes from Maroochydore and the good coast acts play the Noosa hinterland every spring. What tips it is the finish time and the driveway. Give the address and ask for travel shown separately so you can compare with the locals.
The botanic garden on the lake is a popular place for vows, and a singer or duo with battery sound is what suits it. The reception happens somewhere else, so book the two parts as one act if you can.
Cooler than the coast and quieter from June to August, which is when the local singers have Saturdays free. Spring is the opposite and books out along with Noosa.
Cooroy is a few minutes off, but the lake roads are unlit and wind, and a Maroochydore act finishing at midnight will think about it. A local finishes closer to home and won't.
