Brooloo is a farming locality in the Mary Valley, south of Imbil and north of Kenilworth, and it has one entertainer: a guitarist who lives there. The next nearest is a singer at Kandanga, a quarter of an hour up the valley, and after that everyone is half an hour or more away over the range at Pomona, Eumundi, North Arm and Lake MacDonald. Read the distance on every card before you fall for a video, and ask about the drive in your first message.
It's the most stretched list on this side of the range, and honestly the acts are used to it; the Pomona duo and the Eumundi jug band play valley sheds and halls, and the Doonan country band and the Yandina bush band are exactly what a Mary Valley wedding wants. A Maleny soloist rounds out the ten from the south. The coast's cover bands and wedding singers are an hour away in either direction, through Kenilworth or over to Eumundi, and they'll say so on the quote.
Top picks are the nearby performers with the most visible reviews, then rating, then the closest; further afield the closest come first, and premium listings break remaining ties. Distances are straight-line from Brooloo. Ask each act whether they travel to your venue and what that costs.
More of the quote is travel here than anywhere nearer the coast, because the nearest bands are at Eumundi, Yandina and Doonan, each a fair drive over the range, and a late finish on a valley road can mean accommodation. Ask for travel as its own line so you can see it. The from-prices beside the bands above are what they're quoting before that line goes on.
Most will, for a wedding, and the way in is through Kenilworth from the south or over the range from Eumundi, either way about an hour from Maroochydore. Expect the drive on the quote and possibly an earlier finish or a bed. For a birthday or a smaller party, the guitarist in town and the singer at Kandanga are the sensible first calls.
For the Mary Valley it's the closer town, about the same run as Eumundi, and its page carries a comedian, a wedding band and a folk singer that this page pushes down the list. Search both. The Kandanga singer appears on each, which tells you how the valley sits between the two.
Country halls at Kandanga and Imbil and farm sheds at Brooloo mean a long lead to one power point and a floor that's seen a century of boots. Tell the act, and favour the ones that bring their own sound.
A solo guitarist does a ceremony, a long lunch and an evening set on the verandah, and the one at Brooloo is the only act that won't be quoting a drive. Ask first.
The bush band, the country band and the folk acts are the ones every hinterland couple wants, and they're already half an hour from here. A spring Saturday needs to be asked about before the marquee is booked.
