Best entertainers in Arundel
Arundel's own act is a barbershop chorus, which is a rarer thing on this site than a DJ by a long way. Around it, within a few minutes, the list turns residential: a soloist and a singer at Coombabah, a wedding DJ and a Vegas-style show at Biggera Waters, a caricaturist and a wedding band at Labrador, a singer at Runaway Bay and the brass band at Southport. The cover bands, the duos and the wedding singers are the Gold Coast's and start ten minutes south. If you're booking for a workplace rather than a home, that near end is more useful than it looks.
Because Arundel is where a good share of the coast's weekday population is. The business units along the Brisbane Road side, the hospital and university precinct next door at Parkwood, the light-industrial blocks towards Molendinar: these run the retirement morning teas, the awards lunches and the Friday-afternoon send-offs that want a chorus, a caricaturist or a comedian at two in the afternoon, not a band at ten at night. Daytime and midweek is a different market, and acts are usually easier to get for it than for a Saturday night.
Top picks in Arundel
Top picks are the nearby performers with the most visible reviews, then rating, then the closest; further afield the closest come first, and premium listings break remaining ties. Distances are straight-line from Arundel. Ask each act whether they travel to your venue and what that costs.
Questions people ask about entertainers in Arundel
Where can I get a caricature done for an office party near Arundel?
Labrador, a few minutes down the road, where the nearest caricaturist on this page is based. They work by the hour at a set pace per face, so give the head count and the length of the function; for a big office a second artist or a longer booking is how everyone gets drawn. Ask whether they set up at a table or roam the room, since a roaming artist suits a stand-up lunch and a table suits a seated one.
How much does a DJ cost for a corporate event in Arundel?
Hours and gear, as with a wedding, but with two things that often bring it down: the function runs shorter and the venue is more likely to have a sound system already. Then it's whether you want a wireless microphone for the speeches and lights for the room. The wedding DJ at Biggera Waters and the Southport DJ are both close enough that travel isn't in it, and the from-prices on their cards are what they're starting from.
Is a barbershop chorus a real option for a corporate event?
For the right ten minutes, yes, and the chorus based in Arundel is the one on this page. A chorus that size fills a room with no microphones at all, which suits an office atrium or a foyer where a PA is a nuisance, and they'll sing to a person or a table on request. Tell them the moment you've got in mind and how many voices the room can take.
Booking tips
A chorus for the moment, a DJ for the hours
A barbershop chorus is a set piece: a surprise at a farewell, a singing telegram on Valentine's Day, the anthem at a citizenship ceremony. Book it for one spot in the running order, and book the DJ or the duo for the hours either side.
Daytime bookings need daylight thinking
A two o'clock function in an office atrium has no stage lighting and a lot of glass, so a caricaturist or a comedian works and a show with backing tracks and lights doesn't. Say the room and the time in the enquiry and let the act tell you if it fits.
The hospital precinct runs on a clock
Events near the hospital and the university at Parkwood happen in a working precinct with shift changes and full car parks. Tell the act where to pull in and when the room is free to set up, because a band that arrives at four and can't unload until five is a band that starts late.
