About
Gold Coast City Brass Band is a band for hire in Southport, QLD.
The Gold Coast City Brass Band has been playing on the Gold Coast since 1902. It's a volunteer, community-run, not for profit outfit, and if something happened locally the band was probably somewhere near the middle of it, helping mark the occasion. The repertoire covers brass band music old and new, chosen so the players enjoy it as much as the audience does. A full band that can set up almost anywhere, from a stage to a patch of grass. Set lists are available on request, and so is the insurance certificate.
Watch
The show
It's a full brass band, so the sound arrives before you see them. They'll play on a stage if there's one going, and on a flat patch of lawn if there isn't, which makes them easy to slot into a park event, a memorial service or a civic occasion. The repertoire pulls from brass band writing old and new, picked because the players like it too. That matters more than it sounds - a band enjoying the music plays it better.
On the day
Space is the only thing on the list. Enough room for the full band to spread out and sit down, whether that's a proper stage or a level bit of grass. No power, no PA, nothing to plug in.
