About
Spinifex & Sundance is a fire act for hire in Perth, WA.
A two person fire and flow act out of Perth, working with poi, flags, levitation wand, dragon staff, palms, sword and silk dragon, plus a full daytime and LED kit for when there's no open flame allowed. They've done small town and community events and they've done big festivals, so the show scales. The pitch is warmth rather than danger: two performers reading each other and the crowd. Nothing to set up on your end, they bring the lot. Public liability and performer cover are in place.
The show
Two performers who spend as much time connecting with each other and with the crowd as they do with the props. That's what gives the show its warmth. The prop list is long: poi, flags, levitation wand, dragon staff, palms, sword and silk dragon, spun in a way that's meant to delight rather than make anyone nervous. And the pair clearly enjoy it, which the audience picks up on faster than any trick.
On the day
Nothing for you to organise. Mat and Kiera arrive with all their props, costuming, fuel and transport, and they set themselves up. All you really need to do is point them at where the performance is happening and make sure the audience has somewhere sensible to stand. If there are site rules about open flame, tell them early so they bring the daytime and LED kit instead.
Performance options
A two person show, with a full array of daytime, LED and fire flow props. Roving daytime performance means multiple appearances spread through the hour rather than one set piece. Once the sun goes down, the same roving format runs on LED props. Fire spinning is the third option, again with several performances within the hour. Two hours is the usual minimum, though they're open to other timings and happy to fit around the shape of your event.
