About
Wendy Ramsey is a DJ for hire in Cairns, QLD.
Wendy Ramsey has spent more than 20 years on a microphone, and the range is unusual. Corporate events, parties, cabaret and stage shows as MC. Motivational and inspirational speaking. Spoken word, which she writes, performs and teaches. And tribal drumming and hand percussion, currently with a small cover band taking local gigs around Cairns and Far North Queensland. The through line is a quick mind and a wicked sense of humour, used to keep an audience with her rather than just informed. She also creates and manages alternative events by appointment. Standard staging audio does the job, plus the odd chair, table or flipchart.
The show
Wendy is a speaker and a Mistress of Ceremonies, and the description that follows her around is fire on the mic. She informs and entertains at the same time, holding a room with intelligence, influence and a wicked sense of humour. Audiences tend to leave with more energy than they arrived with, which is the point.
On the day
The usual staging audio is all that's needed, so if your venue is already set up for a speaker you're most of the way there. Occasionally she'll ask for a prop or two on top of that, a chair, a table or a flipchart, depending on what the session involves.
