SEQ Entertainment, Sound & Lighting is a DJ for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
This is an event production company rather than a performing act. Based in Brisbane, they supply sound, intelligent lighting, staging, LED screens, dance floors, microphones and vision for corporate events, gala dinners, conferences, weddings, festivals and private parties across South East Queensland, and they provide DJs and MCs as part of it. Rather than fixed packages, they build the kit list around the venue and the size of the event. Before the night they'll go through your music preferences, must-play songs and anything you'd rather not hear. Their DJ booth and rig need about three by three metres of clear space and two 240 volt power outlets nearby, more for larger builds, and they arrive with enough time to test everything before guests do.
The show
SEQ Entertainment, Sound & Lighting treat the production as a whole job, not a drop-off. Before the date they'll talk through what you're picturing and speak to the venue and your other suppliers so the timings line up. On the day the rig goes in early, gets tested, and is sitting quiet and ready well before the first guest walks in. The DJs work off the room: dinner music that people can talk over, formalities hit on cue, then the floor when the floor is ready.
On the day
Clear them about three metres by three for the booth, speakers and lighting. Staging, LED screens, a dance floor or extra trussing will want more room, and that gets worked out with you beforehand. Two standard 240 volt outlets near the production area, please, and more for bigger builds. Tell them early about stairs, lift access, loading docks, a long carry, paid parking, curfews, noise limits or bump-in windows. Installing, programming and sound checking usually takes two to three hours. Outdoors, they need a level spot that's protected from rain and hard sun.
Performance options
There's no fixed package list here. You tell them the venue and the size of the night, and the kit list gets built to match. That can be as simple as a DJ and a good sound system, or it can run to intelligent lighting and effects, wireless microphones and presentation gear, LED screens, staging and truss, a dance floor, uplighting, ceremony and reception audio, corporate audiovisual, technical support for a live band, photo booths, or the whole event production managed end to end. MCs are available too. It scales, so a small private function and a gala dinner get the same approach at very different sizes.
