About
The Hoodlum Ballet is a dancer for hire in Gold Coast, QLD.
Ballet crossed with fire, contortion and aerial work, tied together by a tribal groove and a fairly dark sense of style. The Hoodlum Ballet are a Gold Coast troupe of performers who tailor what they bring to the event, so one booking might be a fire show, another belly dancers, aerial ballerinas or contortion. It's a female-led company with a stated interest in artistic expression and getting people excited about dance again. Corporate events and private functions are the usual settings. Set-up depends on which acts and equipment you choose, and the performers hold public liability insurance.
On the day
There's no single answer on space, because the fire acts, the aerial work and the contortion each ask for something different. Once you've settled on which performers you want and what equipment comes with them, the crew will tell you what the room needs. So it's worth mentioning your ceiling height, your floor surface and how much clear space you can give up when you get in touch, since that shapes which acts are even possible in the room.
Performance options
Most of the performers in this company are trained across more than one discipline, which is the useful bit when you're planning a night. One artist might open with fire outside, then reappear later doing contortion or aerial work indoors. So rather than booking three separate acts to fill three moments in your run sheet, you can often get those moments from the same small crew, staged at different points across the evening.
