Freestyling next to live musicians on festival stages is the favourite, though the same fluid, high energy movement works just as well in a corporate room or at a kids party. Roving sets usually run around 20 to 30 minutes each across a two and a half to three hour call, with combinations of hoop, robot and mirror costume. Stilt work needs a sturdy table and chair, or a loading dock, to get up out of sight. LED acts don't go out in the rain, so a wet weather plan is worth having. Insurances are held. Commercial dance is the training, though the style has gone somewhere more eccentric and fluid since. Festival stages next to live musicians are the favourite, but the same energy reads well in a corporate room or at a kids party. The LED robot feature runs about five minutes.
On the day
Stilt work needs a safe height to get up from, out of sight of your guests. A sturdy table with a chair on top does it, or a loading dock. Every other act needs a small private space to change and take breaks between sets. One firm rule: the LED acts don't go outdoors in rain, ever, so a wet weather plan is worth having. There are other options she can switch to if the sky opens, as long as you've talked about it beforehand.
Performance options
The combinations are built around a call time. A three hour hoop and LED robot booking gives you an hour of hoop playspace and two half hour robot roving sets, with a circus costume for the first hour. A three hour hoop version drops the LEDs and the costume changes for two half hour hoop sets after the playspace. And the two and a half hour silver combo pairs two 20 minute robot dancer sets with two 20 minute mirror girl sets. Other combinations, extra costume changes or a feature show can be arranged.
