About
The Cover Council is a cover band for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
A four piece out of Melbourne playing contemporary covers from the 70s forward, moving across pop, rock, funk, disco and easy listening as the night asks for it. Bec sings out front and works the crowd hard, Mao handles lead guitar with a fair bit of speed and detail, and Trev holds down the bass. Their list is long: Dance Monkey, Blinding Lights, April Sun in Cuba, Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Chasing Cars, Crazy in Love and plenty more. The Cover Council also works as an acoustic duo or trio for canapes and dinner, then switches to the full band later. Own PA and lighting available. Fully insured, with gear tested and tagged.

The show
Contemporary covers from the 70s forward, moving through pop, rock, funk, disco and easy listening as the night asks for it. Bec fronts the group and works the crowd hard, which is the engine of the whole thing. Mao's lead guitar is fast and detailed, Trev holds the bass groove, and the song list is long: Dance Monkey, Blinding Lights, April Sun in Cuba, Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Chasing Cars, Crazy in Love. The four-piece is the party version. Stripped back to a duo or trio it turns into something you can talk over.
On the day
A sturdy flat stage area and enough power to run the band. If you're outdoors, it needs to be under cover with real protection from the weather, not just a bit of shade. They can bring their own PA and lighting if the venue hasn't got a system, so a bare room works fine. Their gear is all tested and tagged, which some venues will ask you about before they let anyone plug in.
Performance options
Two shapes, and plenty of events use both across one night. The full four piece is the party band. The acoustic duo or trio is the quieter version, better suited to canapes and dinner while people are still talking. Running them in sequence gives you relaxed music early and a filled dance floor later without changing acts. Worth talking through what your night actually looks like hour by hour before you decide.
