Scorching Tones is a cover band for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Five pieces, ten years together, and a song list built to cover a room where the ages range from 20 to 70. Scorching Tones run vocals, guitar, bass, drums and a keys and guitar mix through pop and rock hits from the 1970s to now. The lights go up, the dance floor fills, and that's more or less the plan for the night. PA and lighting come with the band. They need a stage of at least 3m by 3m with room for the kit, two guitars and bass, reliable power, easy access and time to sound check beforehand. Melbourne based, and just as at home at a wedding, a corporate function or a pub.
The show
Energetic is the word for it. Scorching Tones work through a variety of music running from the seventies up to the current day, played by a five piece with a female vocalist out front. Behind her sit lead and rhythm guitar, bass, and drums and percussion.
On the day
Give the band a stage of at least three metres by three. That has to hold a drum kit, two guitars and a bass, with enough left over for the PA and sound gear. A reliable power supply matters, and so does a sensible route onto the stage for carrying gear in. Book them time on site beforehand to set up and run a sound check.
