Down for the Count is a cover band for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
If you grew up watching Countdown, this is your band. Down for the Count play the hits and the half-forgotten ones from 1974 to 1987: AC/DC, The Angels, Australian Crawl, Skyhooks, Dragon, Icehouse, INXS, Midnight Oil, Hoodoo Gurus, Split Enz, Paul Kelly, Bowie, The Cure, Billy Idol, The Clash. Melbourne based, one to three sets depending on what the night needs. PA, lighting and the rest of the gear all come with them, so somewhere to stand and a couple of power points is the whole list. Setup takes an hour and a half to two hours. Expect a hoarse voice by the end, which is rather the point.

The show
One, two or three sets of music from the Countdown era, and how many depends on what your night needs. AC/DC through to Skyhooks, INXS, Icehouse, The Cure. Everything comes with them, PA and lighting included, so they're fully self contained and the venue isn't asked to supply anything. If you grew up with these songs the first eight bars will do the work for you.
On the day
Somewhere to play and a few power points covers it. Setup normally takes an hour and a half to two hours, so factor that into when the room is free and when your guests are arriving.
