About
Vanessa is a country singer for hire in Parkes, NSW.
A nomination for Country Woman Vocalist at next year's Tamworth Country Music Festival puts Vanessa among the names rising quickest in Australian country. Alongside guitarist Mick, the duo works out of Parkes playing pub classics, rock and roll, 80s through 2000s material and modern country. Crowd work is the strength here. She adapts what's played to the room rather than running the same list at every venue. They bring PA and lighting, so they need decent access into the venue, cover and power. Accommodation is required for gigs more than an hour from Parkes.
The show
Vanessa out front and Mick on guitar, working as a pair rather than a singer with an accompanist. The songs come from the 80s through the 2000s, pub classics, rock and roll, and a fair amount of modern country. She reads what a room wants and shifts the choices to suit, so the same two people can play a quiet Sunday and a loud Saturday and neither night sounds like a repeat of the other.
On the day
PA and lighting come with them, so the way in matters: they'll want a clear run from the vehicle into the room. Cover over the performance area, and power. If the venue sits more than an hour's drive from Parkes, accommodation needs to be sorted.
