About
Dallas Alice is a country band for hire in Benalla, VIC.
Three piece alt country from north east Victoria. Dallas Alice play Americana with a folk streak, some of it sassy, some of it contemporary, and now and then a pop song sneaks in with a wink. They're based in Benalla and happy to head for the small towns. They bring their own PA, bass amps, microphones and leads, so a venue doesn't need much beyond somewhere to put them.
The show
Americana with a bit of attitude in it. Dallas Alice lean sassy where a lot of alt country plays it straight, and the three of them fold in contemporary material and the occasional pop song done with a wink, so a set doesn't sit in one mood for two hours. Folk underneath most of it. It suits a pub in a small north east Victorian town as well as it suits a function room, and they're happy to drive for the former. Expect a set list that keeps turning corners.
On the day
They travel with the lot. PA, bass amps, microphones and leads all come in the van, so a venue with no sound system of its own is no obstacle and you're not chasing a hire company. What's needed at your end is somewhere for three people to stand and power to run into. Being Benalla based they're used to rooms that were never built for live music, which is most of the good ones.
