About
Real Santa Downunder is a costume character for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Santa Troy has been doing this for over ten years, and he plays it straight: no winking at the parents, just a Santa the kids believe in. Real Santa Downunder covers Melbourne and regional Victoria, roaming and interactive rather than parked on a throne, though a chair works fine for photo sessions. Meet and greets, storytelling, gift giving, Christmas singalongs, honourary elf certificates, and Paws for Claus for the family dog. He turns up at private home visits, school and kindergarten visits, work Christmas parties, sporting club functions, shopping centres, council events and Christmas parades. Every appearance gets shaped around the age group in front of him. He works alongside photographers, MCs, event staff and venue coordinators, and he holds a Working with Children Check.
The show
Santa arrives in character and stays there. Expect warm conversation with the kids, storytelling, photos and a fair bit of laughing, shaped to whoever is in the room. A private family visit plays out very differently to a shopping centre appearance or a council event, and it's built accordingly. He works schools, sporting clubs, corporate Christmas functions, community events and parades, and he roams and interacts rather than staying planted in one spot.
On the day
Safe parking close to the event helps most, along with somewhere private for Santa to arrive and get ready if you can manage it. A chair or throne is optional and only matters for seated photos. Larger events using sound equipment will need power. Have the organiser meet him on arrival so he knows the plan. And for anything outdoors, a sheltered spot is worth arranging when it's very hot or wet. He's used to working alongside photographers, event staff, MCs, venue coordinators and school or council organisers.
Performance options
Bookings run from private home visits and family Christmas experiences through to corporate parties, school and kindergarten visits, sporting club functions, community and council events, shopping centre appearances and parades. What sits inside a booking is up to you: the interactive Santa experience itself, storytelling, photos, honourary elf certificates, and Paws for Claus certificates for the dog. Roaming entertainment and photo sessions can both feature. If your Christmas event is an unusual shape, that gets built to order.
