About
Clay McMath is a comedian for hire in Adelaide, SA.
Clay McMath came to stand up after a basketball career ended, and started sharpening the act at Adelaide's Rhino Room. The humour is quick, observational and irreverent, with a fair bit of self deprecation and storytelling holding it together, and he's not shy about pushing at a line to land a joke. Which means he's a strong pick for a crowd that wants edge, and the wrong pick for a room that bruises easily. He's played comedy clubs and festivals around Australia. All he needs is a PA and lighting. Insured for public and product liability.

The show
Quick wit and sharp observation are the backbone of it, with the irreverent streak Adelaide comedy rooms grew in him. Clay has toured comedy clubs and festivals across the country, on his own and with the collective Cold Blooded Comedy, and he hosts a film and television podcast called Welcome to the Poddy. The Advertiser called it star quality, and Upside Adelaide gave the show five stars, describing it as bold and brilliant. He came to stand up after basketball and built the act at the Rhino Room, which is where the fearlessness comes from. He will take a risk to land a joke.
