About
Aurora Kurth is a comedian for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Some MCs just read the run sheet. Aurora Kurth holds the room instead, working strong vocals and a quick wit into a show with plenty of audience interaction. More than two decades in the performing arts sit behind it, across cabaret rooms, gala balls and community festivals, as a singer, actor, comedian and MC. Given enough lead time, she'll learn a song that means something to the birthday person or the couple. And at weddings she can sing a cappella or with harp, guitar, piano or a backing track. Setup is simple: a PA and a foldback speaker.
Watch
The show
You're getting a singer and a comic in the one person, which is rarer than it sounds. Aurora Kurth works vocals and cheeky humour together, with a good amount of audience interaction, and holds the room whether it's an intimate cabaret setting, a gala ball or a community festival. She has established characters you can choose from. Or tell her your theme and she'll build a persona around it. And as MC she keeps a program moving without the night ever feeling like it's being read off a clipboard.
Performance options
Weddings are part of what she does too. Aurora Kurth sings a cappella if you want the ceremony stripped right back, or with accompaniment: harp, guitar, piano, or a backing track where live players aren't practical. So the same booking can cover the singing and the hosting, which saves you juggling two suppliers on the day.
