About
Jez Watts is a comedian for hire in Richmond, VIC.
Hosting is a different skill to stand-up, and Jez Watts does both for a living. A professional comedian since 2013, he regularly hosts and headlines comedy clubs across Australia and overseas, with more than 55 festivals worldwide behind him. For your event he can MC, perform a set, or write fresh material for the occasion, and he'll match the content level to the room. He's upfront, too: if he's not the right performer for your event, he'll say so and recommend someone who is. Melbourne based, insured nationwide, and holds a current Victorian working with children licence.
Watch
The show
He'll work out with you what your event actually needs from a comedian before committing to anything. And if the honest answer is that he's the wrong fit, he'll tell you and point you at someone who suits it better. That kind of straightness is rarer than it should be. Content level, set length and how long he's on for are all part of that conversation.
On the day
A microphone and speakers. That's the short version, and most venues already have both. A stage and lighting help the set land but he can work without them, standing on the floor in front of the room if that's what you've got. If you haven't got sound gear, he can bring it.
Performance options
Sound and lighting can be supplied if your venue hasn't got them. Wedding MC work and general event MC work are quoted separately from stand-up sets, so be clear about which one you want.
