Double Shot Maggie is a Celtic band for hire in Geelong, VIC.
Irish trad played with a punk engine behind it. Double Shot Maggie are five, sometimes six, and they split their sets roughly half traditional tunes and half contemporary Celtic rock, with a handful of slower ones for the swaying part of the night. Pubs, festivals, weddings and events around Geelong, Melbourne and the regional cities. They'll bring a PA if the venue hasn't got one, or plug into yours through DIs or mic'd amps, but with drums in the mix a proper stage isn't optional. There's also a piano accordion option for arrivals and dinner, a quieter way to set the room before the full band starts. On time, self-sufficient, and honest about liking what they do.

The show
Traditional instruments driving a modern rock sound is the whole idea, and Double Shot Maggie clearly love doing it. Expect high energy stuff you can dance to, with a few slow swaying tunes dropped in so the night has some shape. They're on time and they're straight with you, which sounds like a low bar until you've booked a band that wasn't either.
On the day
Self-sufficient, with their own gear. They'll bring a PA if the venue hasn't got one, or plug into yours through DIs or from mic'd amps if it has. The one non-negotiable is the stage. With five of them, sometimes six, and drums in the middle of it, a reasonable performance area is a must rather than a nice-to-have.
Performance options
For functions there's a traditional piano accordion option that plays as your guests arrive and settle, and it carries on over dinner if you want it there. It sets the room without shouting. Then the full band takes over and the volume goes where you'd expect it to go.
