About
Dr Hubble, Australia's Favourite Bubbleman is a bubble act for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Bubbles, and thirty years of getting very good at them. Dr Hubble has thirty years behind him in theatres and at events internationally, and more than a decade of it playing hundreds of Australian schools, festivals and theatres. There are three ways to book him. An indoor theatre show, heavy on clever tricks and pulling the audience into them. A seven minute spot for a corporate room or cabaret bill. Or giant bubbles outdoors at a festival or a school fete. The theatre tech is simple: a headset mic, a black backdrop, a trestle table and a DI, with an hour to bump in and half an hour out. For outdoor sessions he arrives thirty minutes early to find the best spot, because wind matters more than you'd think. Public liability insurance and a Working With Children Check valid in every state.

The show
Thirty years of doing one thing properly is what turns up on the day. Dr Hubble has worked theatres, festivals and events around the world, and the shape of the booking is yours to pick. A theatre show for a festival programme. Outdoor bubble sessions where people can wander in and out. Either way the bubbles are the whole point, and they hold a crowd better than you'd guess from the description. Kids stop running. Adults stop checking their phones. It's a simple thing done by someone who stopped finding it simple a very long time ago.
On the day
Outdoors, he turns up half an hour ahead to walk the space and pick the right spot for making bubbles. Indoors it's a short tech list: a headset mic, a black backdrop, a trestle table and a DI. Give him an hour for bump-in and sound check, and half an hour afterwards to pack down. That's the lot. No lighting states to program, no rider to argue about.
