Becky Bubble is a bubble act for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Becky is a bubbleologist, and the word fits. Her GIANT Bubble Show pulls crowds around the biggest bubbles she can build, while the roving act works differently, painting rainbow colour through the air among the guests. Both indoor and outdoor versions exist, plus bubble birthday parties, school incursions and a workshop where kids learn to make the big ones themselves. Outdoors she needs a clear area of about six by six metres with nothing overhead, ideally grass or bitumen, and she brings bollards to keep children out of the drip zone. The show
Becky makes bubbles bigger than the children watching them, which is most of the appeal. She calls herself a bubbleologist and she means it, because getting a bubble that size to hold together takes technique and the right weather. Kids crowd in, adults end up filming it, and somebody always tries to pop one. The roving version works differently, pushing rainbow colour through the air among your guests rather than pulling everyone into one spot.
On the day
Outdoors, allow a 6m by 6m area with nothing overhead, on grass or bitumen rather than anything slippery. Central is good, away from food stalls and roads. Becky brings bollards to keep children out of the drip zone. Wind decides where bubbles travel, so have a second and third spot in mind. Indoors, the minimum is 3m by 2m, with power, nothing hanging above, and air conditioning, heating and fans switched off with doors and windows shut. Either way, she needs clear access to wheel heavy gear in, and a parking or loading spot close to the entry.
Performance options
The GIANT Bubble Show is the main event, the one people gather around. Roving Bubbles moves through the crowd instead, and comes in indoor and outdoor versions. There's a bubble birthday party format, again indoor or outdoor. The BIG Bubble Making Workshop teaches kids to build the huge ones themselves, and bubble incursions are the school version of the same thing.
