Ain't My Style is a blues band for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Blues rock, but not the same twelve songs every pub band plays. Ain't My Style digs up little-known blues tracks and reworks them into lively, upbeat sets, alongside covers of modern American and British blues artists like Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Coco Montoya, Mike Zito and Los Lonely Boys. The Sydney trio plays anything from a punchy 45-minute set to a full three-hour show, in clubs and hotels on the house PA or with their own rig for bigger rooms and outdoor stages. It's built to feel more like a concert than background music.

The show
This plays more like a concert than background music, which is the point. You get a blues rock trio who go after energy rather than politeness, whether that's a small club room or an outdoor stage. Sets are put together so the pace never sags, and there's real interaction with the crowd rather than three blokes staring at their fretboards. Sound quality gets taken seriously: house PA in most clubs and hotels, their own rig where the venue has none. And they arrive early, set up properly, and roll with whatever changes the night throws at them.
On the day
In clubs and hotels the band works off the house vocal PA, which keeps setup and pack-down quick. A typical in-house system suits a room of roughly 150 people. Where a venue or a private function has no vocal PA, the band can bring their own gear instead. Open-air bookings are a bigger job: a more powerful vocal system, a mixer and sound tech, foldback, subwoofer, stands and cabling. Worth raising early so the right rig is booked in.
Performance options
Two-hour shows with one break, or three-hour shows with two, are the standard formats indoors, working off the house PA or the band's own.
