About
Jamie the Clown is a balloon twister for hire in Albany, WA.
Jamie the Clown is the bumbling sort, the kind kids yell corrections at, and that's exactly the point. The stage show runs 45 minutes or splits into two 25 minute halves, with magic, comedy and enough audience noise to be heard from the car park. There are two other characters in the wardrobe: Mr Jamie Magician, a bit less colourful and a bit more magical, and Scallywag the Pirate, who runs pirate magic, treasure hunts and balloon swords. Twisted balloon creations get handed out after the show or made all through the event, and there's face painting, glitter tattoos, a large sculpture build and workshops in balloons or magic. He can MC your event too. Twenty plus years entertaining kids, ten of them running programs for The Y. He brings his own PA and wireless mic, and needs three metres square plus a shady spot for balloons.
The show
Loud, in the good way. Jamie's stage show is built for families and younger kids especially, and you'll hear the laughing and cheering from the other side of the park. It runs 45 minutes, or splits into two 25 minute halves if the day has other things happening in between. He can MC your event instead, keeping things ticking along between everything else, which works well for community days. Twisted balloon creations get handed out after the show, or made right through the event if you'd rather the colour lasted all afternoon.
On the day
Jamie brings his own PA and wireless microphone. From you he needs a minimum three by three metre area to perform in, ideally a stage or at least a decent spot for the show, and a shady covered patch for the balloon twisting. Balloons and hot sun are not friends.
Performance options
Three characters to choose between. Jamie the Clown is the bumbling comedy one, working the crowd with magic and balloon animals. Mr Jamie Magician is the same performer dialled down on colour and up on magic. And Scallywag the Pirate runs a pirate magic show, teaches the kids to be pirates, sends them hunting for treasure and makes balloon swords and parrots.
