About

Yana is a violinist for hire in Perth, WA.

Classically trained in St Petersburg and now based in Perth, Yana spent over a decade performing at the Mariinsky Theatre and internationally before settling here. The playing covers classical pieces, jazz standards, film music and pop covers, performed solo with backing tracks. Think Viva la Vida and Somewhere Only We Know sitting near Dancing Queen and A Thousand Years. She'll build the set around the mood you want, which matters more at a wedding or a proposal than most people expect. All professional sound equipment comes with her. Outdoors, she needs a flat covered or shaded spot to protect the instrument, and 20 to 30 minutes before the performance for setup and soundcheck.

Watch

The show

Elegance and emotion, played by someone with more than a decade at the Mariinsky Theatre and on international stages behind her. Yana works out what suits the atmosphere you're after and builds the set list around it, moving between classical pieces, romantic pop ballads and modern favourites. Weddings, birthdays, proposals and corporate functions all get the same treatment. The sound is handled with her own professional equipment, and she's typically on site twenty to thirty minutes ahead for setup and sound check. Perth and further afield.

On the day

Yana supplies all her own professional sound gear, so the venue doesn't need to provide anything technical. Two things help on your side. Allow twenty to thirty minutes ahead of the performance for setup and sound check. And if she's playing outdoors, she needs flat ground with shade or cover over it, because a violin and direct sun are a bad combination.
