Not Elvis is a tribute show for hire in Hobart, TAS.
The name is the joke and also the honest bit. This is a Hobart Elvis act that covers young rocking Elvis, the movie years, the '68 special and the late 70s ballads, then keeps going into songs Elvis never touched. Rock and roll, rockabilly, John Lennon, Beatles, Rod Stewart. Don't Be Cruel, Heartbreak Hotel, Suspicious Minds, In the Ghetto, American Trilogy, If I Can Dream. The song list gets worked out with you rather than handed to you. Guests who want to sing along, or sing outright, are welcome to at your call. Indoors is preferred, or a marquee if the weather turns. Power and lights needed. Hobart area.
The show
The name tells you where the fun is. You get the young rocking Elvis, the movie years, the leather-clad '68 special and the big late seventies ballads, and then songs Elvis never sang at all, which is the whole point of the act. Rock and roll, rockabilly, a bit of Lennon or Rod Stewart. The set list gets built with you beforehand rather than arriving fixed. And if you want your guests up singing along, or taking the microphone outright, that's your call to make on the night. Hobart and around.
On the day
Keep it indoors if you can. A marquee or another covered area does the job when the Hobart weather turns, which it will. Beyond that the needs are small: a power point and some lighting on the performance spot so people can actually see the show.
Performance options
There's no fixed menu here. Tell him the shape you want and he builds to it. Scarves handed out to the crowd, for instance, can be arranged as a bit of extra theatre on top of the set.
