Great Southern Man is a tribute show for hire in Sunshine Coast, QLD.
Aussie music, all night, no apologies. Tim Scholl performs as Great Southern Man on the Sunshine Coast, and the whole idea is that this country's back catalogue deserves more airtime than it gets. Set one might run Dumb Things, Don't Change, April Sun In Cuba, Fall At Your Feet and Great Southern Land. Set two picks up Down Under, Riptide, Follow The Sun and Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again. Newer names get a run too: Middle Kids, Thelma Plum, The Rubens, Big Scary. Setups range from a quiet acoustic session to full loop-driven dance floor mayhem, which makes him as useful in a cafe as at the local RSL. He'll use the venue PA or bring his own with lighting, and just needs power.

The show
Tim's whole pitch is that Australian music can carry a full night on its own, and he's right. Setups shift depending on the room. A quiet acoustic session works in a cafe over coffee. Turn up the loops and the same act fills a dance floor at the local RSL. Fifty years of this country's songwriting gets a run, from the ones everybody sings back to newer names still building. It's a set that rewards paying attention without demanding it.
On the day
Dead simple. If your venue has a PA, he'll plug into that and you're done. If it doesn't, he brings his own PA and lighting, so all that's left on your side is access to power. That's the whole list.
Performance options
Bookings are built from 50-minute sets, and three or four of them is the usual shape of a night. The same format covers a wedding, a birthday or a Christmas party, and he plays public holidays too. He can plug into the venue's sound system or bring his own PA along. Songs that aren't on his current list can be learned for the booking, from a single request up to ten of them.
