About
Cher Tribute is a tribute show for hire in Thornlie, WA.
Jaye Yates has built a Cher show out of Thornlie that runs the whole span, 60s through to now, costumes included. It's a 45 minute to one hour floor show, or two 50 minute Cher sets with a 60s set after, and there's a Dusty Springfield and Eurythmics stretch in the dance section. The Abba songs are in there too, from Cher's Mamma Mia recordings. Dancers are optional. Jaye has performed the show interstate and overseas, and the tongue in cheek chat with the crowd is half the act. Corporate setup with radio mic, reverb and delay on vocals, spotlight and lighting effects for the bigger rooms. Fully covered for public liability.
The show
Jaye's Cher show runs 45 minutes to an hour as a floor show, and it covers the favourites you'd hope for, plus the Abba numbers Cher recorded for Mamma Mia. Dancers are optional, so the show works either way. Timings are flexible around your run sheet. What lifts it above a straight tribute set is how much Jaye works the room, chatting with the audience between numbers. There's a 60s dance section in there too, with Dusty Springfield and a stretch of Eurythmics.
On the day
It's a corporate standard setup: radio mic so Jaye can move around the floor, with reverb and delay on the vocals. For larger events a spotlight makes a real difference to a costumed show, and lighting effects come into their own in a big room. Tell her what your venue already has rigged when you enquire, so the two lists can be matched up.
Performance options
The shorter option is a 45 minute floor show, which you can book with or without dancers. Dancers are an addition rather than part of the standard show. The longer format is two 50 minute Cher sets followed by a 60s set, which fills an evening properly and gives the night somewhere to go after the tribute material has done its work.
