About
Movie Hits is a tribute band for hire in Sydney, NSW.
"Time of My Life". "Danger Zone". "Eye of the Tiger". Movie Hits play the songs that soundtracked everyone's video shelf, and the whole show is built to trigger the memory that comes with them. The set runs through "Footloose", "Ghostbusters", "Grease", "The Power of Love", "The Heat Is On", "Stayin' Alive", "Time Warp", "Fame", "Maniac" and plenty more. This is a production, not just a band on a riser: big lighting rig, costumes, the lot. The Sydney outfit works corporate nights, private functions, clubs and pubs. They'll need a change room, for obvious reasons.
Watch
The show
The trick here is memory. You hear the opening of "Eye of the Tiger" or "Danger Zone" and you're somewhere else for a second, and Movie Hits build the whole night on that reflex. "Time of My Life", "The Power of Love", "The Heat Is On" and the rest of the soundtrack canon get played properly, with a full production behind them: a serious lighting rig, costumes, the scene set rather than a band in stage blacks. It suits corporate nights, private functions, clubs and pubs, anywhere a crowd is old enough to know the films.
