About
Clearwater The Creedence Revival Show is a tribute band for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Down On The Corner, Suzie Q. Clearwater work through the Creedence Clearwater Revival catalogue with the swamp rock grit intact rather than sanded smooth, and Damien Barnes takes on the John Fogerty vocal, which is the part most tribute acts get wrong. Brisbane based. The show leans on audience singalong, because these are songs three generations in the same room happen to know all the words to.
The show
Expect the room to sing. Clearwater build the show around that, because the Creedence catalogue is full of choruses that a mixed-age crowd already knows without being taught, and Damien Barnes leads it with the Fogerty rasp rather than a polite imitation. Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Down On The Corner and Suzie Q all land the same way. It is loose and swampy on purpose, and by the second or third song most of the audience has stopped watching and started joining in.
