About
Prof. Lisa Harvey-Smith is a technical speaker for hire in Hobart, TAS.
Prof. Lisa Harvey-Smith is an astrophysicist who has hosted the Prime Minister's Prizes for Science, delivered a National Press Club address, given a TEDx talk, and shared a stage with Apollo astronauts including Buzz Aldrin on live tours. She was a presenter on the ABC series Stargazing Live, and she's written award-winning books for both adults and children. Her subjects are space and astronomy, science and technology, STEM education and gender equity, and she can take a general audience along without dumbing any of it down. As an MC she's respectful, culturally competent, well informed and genuinely funny, which is a rarer combination on the conference circuit than it should be. Based in Hobart, works nationally and online. Holds a current Working with Children Check.

The show
Lisa takes an audience somewhere. The subject matter is space and science, but the talk is built for people who aren't scientists, and she gets there without thinning the content out. Wonder is the register she works in. Booked as an MC instead, you get a host who is well informed, respectful of the room and its cultures, and funny in a way that lands rather than fills gaps. Your event runs in steady hands.
