About
Manoeuvre is a stilt walker for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Four distinct characters, all of them well above head height. MANOEUVRE is a Brisbane stilt-walking company with an original suite of roving acts: BLAX, strangers on long insect legs who communicate through gaunt postures and a piercing stare; M CLAIRE, moving lightly inside a cloud of bubbles; JACK & JACK, a pair of goofy mischief-makers looking for playmates; and RED RIBBON, over two and a half metres of striking block colour. They work indoors or out, day or night, and the acts are built to be interactive rather than just decorative. A standard booking is two 45 minute roving sets inside a three hour call. The performers can duck through doorways and ride lifts, so venues rarely present a problem. A dry, non-slip surface is the main requirement.

The show
Four characters, all of them well over your head. BLAX are strangers on long insect legs who say nothing and communicate through posture and a stare that most people find hard to hold. M CLAIRE moves lightly inside a cloud of bubbles. JACK & JACK are a pair of goofy troublemakers hunting for someone to play with. RED RIBBON is over two and a half metres of striking block colour. They're built to be interactive rather than decorative, so guests get drawn into something rather than just pointing upwards. Indoors or out, day or night, all of them work.
On the day
The surface underfoot matters most. It needs to be dry, or non slip, or ideally both. Three metres of overhead clearance covers most of the route, though the performers can duck under doorways, ride in lifts and cross short stretches with lower ceilings, so awkward venues are rarely a dealbreaker. They need a dressing room on the same level as the performance area or with lift access, and inside it a stilt up spot to sit on while strapping in, roughly wheelie bin height. Basic furnishings, a mirror, good lighting, water, and backstage access to toilets and running water.
Performance options
A standard booking is two roving sets of forty five minutes each, spread across a three hour call. That shape works well for a festival or a long event, since it puts the characters out twice with a break between rather than wearing them out in one stretch. You can choose which of the four characters comes, and the acts work equally well indoors or outside, in daylight or after dark.
