About
Chelly Parisi is a soul singer for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
A loop pedal changes what one person with a guitar can do, and Chelly Parisi uses hers to build beats and stitch songs into long medleys. People describe the voice as soulful and smooth, with a rougher edge under it, shaped by the soul singers she grew up on. Expect Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder sitting next to Cold Chisel, Renee Geyer, INXS and Harry Styles. She'll keep it soft in the background, or push it into party territory. There's a second option too: swap the guitar for backing tracks and the set turns into disco and top 40 dance. Melbourne based, own PA for local gigs, public liability insurance in place.
Watch
The show
Just a guitar, a voice and loop pedal doing more than you'd think. Chelly builds beats and layers underneath herself, so the sound is bigger than a solo acoustic act usually manages. The set moves. Laid back tunes early, dance anthems later, and plenty of songs in between that people can't help singing along to. It works as background and it works as the reason everyone's on their feet, depending on where you put her in the night.
On the day
For local gigs Chelly brings her own PA and sets it up herself, so there's nothing to organise. Interstate is different. If you're booking her outside Victoria, the PA needs to come from your end, along with travel and accommodation arrangements. Worth sorting that out in the first conversation rather than close to the date.
Performance options
There's a second version of the act without the guitar, where Chelly sings over backing tracks instead, and the material shifts across to disco and top 40 floor-fillers. You can also have both across one night, and that's the option worth considering for a party. She starts on acoustic guitar and keeps it relaxed while people are eating and talking, then switches to the backing tracks once the room is ready to move.
