About
Suzie Baxter is a singer-songwriter for hire in Eleebana, NSW.
A solo singer, guitarist and songwriter out of Newcastle, Suzie Baxter has a music degree behind her. The set is upbeat pop that keeps a crowd in it: Riptide, Rolling in the Deep, Lonely Boy, Jolene, Cheap Thrills, April Sun in Cuba, plus a handful of her own songs woven through the three sets. Pubs and functions around Lake Macquarie and the Hunter are the regular run. She works with PA, mixer, mic and a stompbox to fill the sound out.
The show
Upbeat pop, sung solo with a guitar, chosen for songs a room will join in on. There's a music degree behind it, though what you actually notice is the way she works the crowd song by song instead of playing at them. Three sets, with a handful of her own songs threaded through the covers. Pubs and functions around Lake Macquarie and the Hunter are the usual run.
On the day
She turns up with everything: PA speakers, a mixer, her guitar, a microphone and stand. A stompbox fills out the bottom end so a single player doesn't sound thin in a big room. From the venue she just needs somewhere to stand and something to plug into.
