About
Jake Kokins is a singer-songwriter for hire in Newcastle, NSW.
The voice is the thing. Jake Kokins can fire a crowd up or drop a room to silence with a ballad, and the acoustic guitar with an under-bridge pickup does the quiet half of that job. Big functions and clubs get the fuller sound, high-quality backing tracks under those vocals. His covers pull rock and pop from decades past through to now: The 1975, 5 Seconds Of Summer, 38 Special, 3 Doors Down, ABBA, AC/DC, A Day To Remember. He's also got a large catalogue of originals in a blend of rock, folk, pop and blues. Newcastle based, with public liability insurance.

The show
The vocal does the heavy lifting, and Jake carries a set on charisma as much as on the songs. Expect a performance that talks to the room rather than playing at it, which is why the same act works for a wedding, a club and a corporate night without changing character. Loud when the crowd wants loud, and quiet when a ballad has the floor.
