About
Polly Hazelton is a singer for hire in Wollongong, NSW.
Requests get played on the spot. That is the measure of Polly Hazelton, a Wollongong guitarist, singer and songwriter with a repertoire deep enough to handle whatever gets shouted from the back. Shows often hand percussion instruments to the guests, and there are add-ons if you want them: bubble machine, smoke machine, fancy dress, props, hosted karaoke. She has shared bills with Thirsty Merc, Ricki-Lee and Pacific Avenue. Birthdays, weddings and venues, with wedding MC work available too. Setup is genuinely simple, one power point and she brings the rest. Pub rock, pop, country, blues and folk, with Christmas carols in December.
The show
Polly hosts the show as well as sings it. Expect plenty of energy, a performer who goes out to meet the crowd instead of waiting for it to come to her, and a set pitched so the whole room is in on it, the back table included. It's a party first. But she's reading who's there the whole time, and the show shifts to suit them.
Performance options
Christmas bookings come in three shapes. The first is three hours of live music covering pub rock, pop, country and blues alongside festive carols, with party lighting, percussion instruments handed round and fancy dress props to pull guests in. A bubble machine and smoke machine can be added. The next steps that up to a full night: two or three hours of live music, then two hours of hosted karaoke, with DJ and party music covering the breaks, plus the instruments, festive props like hats, glasses and feather boas, and lighting throughout. The largest option carries everything in the middle package and adds priority scheduling and a longer run of party music and lighting, which suits corporate events, big crowds and festive fundraisers that need covering all night.
