About
Monica Casaceli is a singer for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Monica Casaceli sings and plays acoustic guitar around Melbourne, trained in production as well as performance, with more than ten years of gigs behind her. She reads a room, which matters more than people expect. A cocktail hour needs one thing, and the same crowd two hours later needs another, so the set moves with them: classic favourites, modern pop, indie, sometimes a subtle drum loop underneath to lift the energy. Weddings, corporate events and live venues. Fully self-contained, from a discreet wireless rig to a full sound system, and the only thing she needs from the venue is power.
Watch
The show
Monica watches the room and plays to it. Cocktail hour gets the laid-back acoustic material sitting under the conversation. Later, when the same guests have loosened up, the set moves to songs that get heads nodding and people onto their feet. The repertoire runs across classic favourites, modern pop and indie, all played in a warm acoustic style, with a subtle drum loop underneath when a song needs more push. Transitions are handled cleanly, so there's no awkward gap while she reaches for a capo. Easy to deal with on the day, too.
On the day
Power is the only thing she needs from the venue. Monica is fully self-contained and runs two setups depending on the event: a discreet wireless rig that stays visually out of the way, or a full sound system when the room is bigger and the night needs more volume. Mention which sort of space you're working with when you enquire and she'll bring the right one.
