About
Moe Walker is a singer for hire in Gawler East, SA.
G'day, I'm Moe. Acoustic covers from the 80s through to whatever's on the radio now, with pub classics and singalongs in between: Oasis, The Killers, Foo Fighters, Crowded House, Tom Petty, The Living End, The Cranberries, Blink-182, Matchbox Twenty and plenty more. I've played wineries, pubs, sporting clubs and private functions around Gawler, the Barossa and further out. Some nights want chilled background music and some want the whole room singing, and I'll read which one you're after. I come with the PA, mics and instruments, so I just need a spot, a power point and a bit of time beforehand. I don't take myself too seriously, and I like a laugh.
The show
Moe turns up, plugs in and plays what your crowd responds to. Pub singalongs are in there, so are recent hits, and the balance between them gets decided by the room. Some functions want the music sitting quietly behind conversation all afternoon. Others want everybody bellowing the chorus of a Killers song by nine. He'll read which one you've got and adjust, and there'll be a few laughs along the way because he doesn't play it po-faced. It's a relaxed set, well played, aimed squarely at the people in front of him.
On the day
He arrives with the PA, microphones, instruments and every cable in between, so nothing needs hiring or borrowing. From you: a spot to set up in, a standard power outlet, and enough time before guests arrive to get it all sorted properly. Give him that and the load-in is quiet and quick. Venues tend to notice when a musician is organised, and Moe is.
