About
Mark Holmes is a singer for hire in Yarra Ranges Shire, VIC.
One man, one voice, and more than 200 professionally produced backing tracks. Mark Holmes has been singing for 23 years, and the show leans on hits from the seventies through to modern classics: Stevie Wonder, John Legend, The Eagles, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Crowded House, James Taylor, Garth Brooks. He's after singalongs rather than silence, and he doesn't mind if the crowd only half knows the words. Got a song that matters to you and isn't on the list? Tell him and he'll learn it for the night. He turns up with everything, including a QSC speaker system, mics and mixer, which handles a small venue or a big one.
The show
Songs pulled from across the genres, chosen because people know them. Mark's after a room that joins in, and he isn't precious about whether everyone has the words right. Half-remembered lyrics sung loudly are the goal. The vocals underneath are clear and properly delivered, which is what stops a singalong from turning into noise. Classics that most guests grew up with, handled by someone who's been doing this a long time.
On the day
You supply the room. Mark arrives with the lot: a professional QSC speaker rig, microphones, mixer and the songs already loaded. It's a setup that copes with a small venue or a large one, so you don't need to work out whether your space is too big for a solo act.
